Wicked Grace is Coming
The release date for Wicked Grace, book three in the Wicked Series by Luna Joya is literally a breath away. Because somehow it's already February and in three days it will be Valentine's Day (less for Australians) and I know you're like me, and you're thinking of your spouse.
You've given them all of the jewelry, of course. And lingerie just gets holes. And honestly, how many times can your significant other use a power saw? It's not even hurricane season yet! I'm here to ease that panic which lays within your heart, and stop your from doing a mad dash to the Dollar Tree. No, for your significant, they need words. Words put into a line. Lines gathered into a page. Pages pressed into a book. That's where Wicked Grace steps in. *cues heroic cape flapping in the wind* Releasing this Valentine's Day, Wicked Grace by Luna Joya has everything you could possibly want in a paranormal romance thriller, and it releases February 14th. It'll fill your kindle with that new book smell. Or, you can order a physical copy and sniff that. It's not yet in audio though. Can't sniff that one. Nonetheless, check out the press release below. And if you want to do more than just read the book--if you want to dance with it in the moonlight, take pics of it on your bookshelf, constantly put it into your purse, just in case the car breaks down, even if you're only going to the gas station across the street--then you are more than welcome to fill out the blog tour sign-up sheet at the bottom of this page. (And of course, I had to add in obligatory Tiny Editor video, because--we all need a little Tiny Editor in our lives.) Press Release
Demons, Angels, and Mystery Rule Luna Joya’s Wicked Grace
Anaheim, California– The latest book in Luna Joya’s enemies-to-lovers Wicked Series, Wicked Grace, is set to release February 14, 2023–what better day to bring the “will they, won’t they” tension to life? Obviously, Luna’s hands were guided by an all-knowing and yet, slightly deranged cupid, when he put this angel princess and demon prince together. Though, as we all know, sometimes it’s the humans you have to worry about the most. When supernatural children in Alexei’s hometown start disappearing, the two must work together, and Jolene will have to reveal that her sunshine-and-sparkles magic isn’t what it seems… Joya, a real life, Deputy DA, always adds a heavy dose of mystery to her paranormal romance novels, and when Alexai, a demon mafia prince, rescues Jolene, a sunshine princess locked away in a tower, it’s clear that this is not your mother’s Rapunzel story. “Joya holds the reader in her grip with action-packed intrigue and an expertly paced will-they-or-won't-they,” - Publisher’s Weekly on Joya’s work. Wicked Grace is releasing with City Owl Press. Luna Joya is available for signings, speaking engagements, and convention appearances upon request. About the Book: He’s a grumpy demon prince. She’s a sunshine magical orphan who’s his fated mate and forbidden. But can he survive rejecting her? Demon prince Alexei is ruthless in business and deadly in battle. The mafia boss will do anything to protect his family, even consider an arranged marriage with a royal he doesn’t love. There’s just one problem. When the grumpy hero rescues a sunshine princess locked away in a tower, he knows she’s his fated mate. She also seems to be a freakin’ forbidden angel. Like the villain he is, Alexei rejects her without saying why. Despite her tortuous childhood, Jolene is determined to find her real family and win her grumpy prince. Come on—the man has wings! But loving her antihero makes him a target of her human enemies who are out to destroy all supernaturals. These two opposites attract in all the wicked ways. But when supernatural children in Alexei’s hometown start disappearing, the two must work together, and Jolene will have to reveal that her sunshine-and-sparkles magic isn’t what it seems. Can they find their happily ever after or will their differences and enemies destroy them both? A new year has begun, and it's been...well, yep, a year.
So I thought we could use an update on some of our favorite authors, in the best way--through their very own words on social media. I know a few of our authors could use some love. Michelle Schad/Noa Rose
While I live under a rock, post like these from Michelle have been reminding me--happy lunar new year! (Yes, I am very, very late.)
Luna Joya
This post and the one before it knocked the wind out of me. There are no hugs, no comfort. This has been brutal and my heart is breaking for her. We're sending all of our love her way.
Patricia Bates
Being part of a book box isn't all. She's done interviews, and she's got the next book in the Kidnapped Grooms Series, Married to the Enemy, coming out later this year--and she's crafting, because I'm pretty sure if she's not doing something, she'll explode. A lot of authors we know are like that, actually. I kind of want to harness their energy to solve the world energy crisis.
Lily Riley
It's absolutely no surprise that Lily Riley's "The Assassin and the Libertine" got a great review, Just adding it to the collection of them, basically.
If you want to check it out on the website and give it a little love, go ahead: https://paranormalromanceguild.com/review-the-assassin-and-the-libertine-les-dames-dangereuses-book-1-lily-riley-mystic-owl/ Janet Walden-West
It's never ideal when one of your favorite authors changes their release date, but I can't tell you how much I applaud her decision. Burn out in the author community is real, and after the year she had, I'm so glad she gave herself some grace.
Rumors:
Rumor has is that Wicked Grace by Luna Joya is closer to your e-reader than you might expect.
And Steve Shipley may or may not have visited Cambodia to while working on one of the books in his Blake Willis thriller series. But could we really be seeing a revamp of Elise Whyles' books? Well, I'm not really at liberty to say. I know of a few book sales going on and I thought I would share them with you. The genres are widely varied--contemporary, fantasy, historical--all of it threaded through with that one thing that Hallmark knows we crave in the winter time--romance. Of course, none of these are holiday/winter themed romance. Any lumberjacks from hometowns that teach our heroines the true meaning of Christmas, well, that's purely coincidental. Another thing that connects these books is that they're all $.99--that's right, one penny shy of a dollar. You save that penny. There's a penny shortage. Stores want that penny. But these authors don't. These authors are cool. Hip. They'll let you read their books and keep that penny. Without further ado, here are the books that keep breaking up dollar families and converting them to change. Contemporary Romance

About the Book:
Good girl Prys Bane is the ultimate witch princess—titled, rich, beautiful, and from the best royal bloodlines. But the STEM genius would rather hide with her statistics and crush on a forbidden bodyguard than marry a proper prince. Better to guarantee that no one discovers her true magic—powers more suited to a storybook villain than any princess.
Bad boy John Donovan has pretended to be a bodyguard while hiding his supernatural double agent status from everyone—even his own sisters who see him as the villain. Crushing on Prys seemed safe until he learns she’s not only the witch magistrate investigating a murder where his sister is the chief suspect, but Prys is also the matchmaker hired to force him into an arranged marriage. When John and Prys are pulled into a deadly mystery that comes closer and closer to the couple by the hour, they must work together. When Prys discovers John’s kink, these enemies quickly become lovers whose passions ignite. Can this princess and her antihero find happily ever or will the killer be a best friend whose betrayal neither can survive? Before she can weigh anchor, news reaches Kestrel of a long-ago friend in desperate need of help—in the opposite direction of her assigned voyage. In addition, her ship may be haunted by something big, loud, and terrifying. Before Kestrel can plot a course, she crosses paths with an enigmatic dancer who offers an enticing bargain: sail her home to the Continent, an ocean away, and she'll reveal the mysteries of magic Kestrel has longed all her life to know. The temptation of answers endangers her crew and might ruin her privateer status. Worse, taking on this passenger could thrust her into the clutches of the ever-watchful Danisoban mages who lie in wait for her to make the perfect mistake. Every decision is fraught with danger. Each wrong turn may mean her death or the death of her crew. And Captain Kestrel can walk away from none of them. Kestrel, the pirate who can whistle up the wind, returns in book two of the Mad Kestrel Series. Captain Kes will defy the king, gamble with her friends' lives, and run the risk of capture by evil mages to get her hands on the magical knowledge so long denied to her. In a world in which magic is a monopoly of the Danisobans, and all children showing signs of power are taken from their parents and raised by that order, young Kestrel had hidden her talent and eventually escaped to sea, where magic is cancelled by water. Now risen to the post of quartermaster of a pirate ship, she loves her life. But to keep it, she must never let anyone know that she can magically control the wind. When her captain is entrapped and arrested, the young quartermaster must gather and command the crew for a rescue. That takes all the strength and wit Kestrel can command—and guarded use of her magic. This Errol Flynn–ish swashbuckler features loads of action and larger-than-life characters, plausibly grounded in the realities of life at sea. A real page-turner, and a successor is in the works. It all started the night Chase, my mountain lion shifter ex, reappeared. We’d had a whole good girl/bad boy romance going until he abandoned me a decade ago. I’d gone to Syn City for a little fun before being trapped in my hometown forever. Then I was murdered by a maniac and my night really fell apart. But somehow, Chase managed to strike a deal on a blood oath and bring me back as a Fury. He wants a second chance at romance, claiming we’re fated mates. Now, I have to deal with the guy I thought I’d never see again, find and punish my murderer, and participate in a giant supernatural roller derby (long story)—all while trying to earn my wings. And if I fail? I’ll end up dead. Again…only this time, it’ll be permanent. All I can say is that it’s a good thing hell hath no fury like an actual Fury. How to Date a Fury, the first book in the Syn City trilogy, is a dark, sexy, paranormal romance featuring a reluctant Fury and the shifter who broke her heart but wants a shot at mending it. Test Your Luna Joya Knowledge:Luna Joya just released her latest book and the first in the Syn City Shifters Series, How to Date a Fury. To celebrate we thought we'd to a bit of a get-to-know you with Luna Joya--testing our knowledge and learning more about one of our favorite paranormal romance authors. Anyone that spends any time on Luna's social media, knows that Luna has a partner in literary crime. But who could for a cuter fellow to have your back than him? Do you know the name of her tiny rescue chihuahua? Answer: Tiny Editor Tiny Editor was labeled an "undesirable" rescue, due to personality issues and PTSD from abusive past owners. Really, he was just waiting for the right home, and he went through three, before he found exactly where he needed to be. With his diva ways, judgy eyes that demand Luna write words, and his seat stealing ways, no book pic or video is complete without his tiny chihuahua tremble and his tiny tongue sticking out of the side of his mouth. Luna has a pretty high-profile career outside of her work as a writer. While it make take a lot of time and effort, it's also very rewarding and keeps her mind in a place to solve mysteries--perfect for the mystery aspect of all of her books. What is it? Answer: Deputy District Attorney All of her books have an aspect of mystery to them, and the mystery is often a key to the growth of the characters. She works alongside detectives, forensics, and attorneys, both prosecutors and defense, and has a front seat watching our judicial system work, and that passion seeps into her books. Joya's Legacy Series recently under went a cover change--from couples to sizzling abs and enticing pecs. But the internet has a very long memory, and you can still find her old covers in places. So the question is--what was the hair color of Delia on the cover of the first book of the Legacy Series, Magic Touch? Hint: The original cover is still on the audiobooks. Answer: Blonde. City Owl and Luna Joya decided sometime earlier this year to give the Legacy Series a face lift and the final results were released to the public in August. The Legacy Series follows the Donovan sisters, and is completed series, with Flash Point being the final book within it. Magic Touch is the first book in the series, featuring the oldest of the Donovan sisters, Delia Donovan, who on top of juggling her family's magical secrets, is asked to join a special FBI taskforce to solve a murder. And if there happens to be a bit of tension between her and Mark, the reluctant prosecutor... Well, opposites do attract... Luna Joya has been to a couple of events already this year, but what was her last one? Answer: Luna last attended the Love and Devotion Event to sign her books. The event held authors and cover models and readers were welcomed to join them for lunch at the Sheraton Hotel and Marina. Her next upcoming event will be at a Book Carnival in Orange, California from noon to 2p.m. You can find pictures of her Love and Devotion Event and the Open Canyon Signing that happened before it, here. Games:Normally, I take an author's description of the event and try to give readers the feeling of being there, because I've always wanted to know what it's like, and I'm often distance challenged when it comes to seeing our authors at signings--our authors are spread across the country. The piece Michelle wrote, however, had so much of her in it, that it just needed to be put up here without any interference from me. QuestCon Orlando was actually almost a month ago--slow much, Echo?--but better late than never. If you're interested in attending the next QuestCon Orlando, you can check it our here. Michelle has more signing's coming up, but nothing that's been announced yet. If you'd like to keep up with Michelle's signings, watch her calendar on her page. Note: Michelle's next book is coming out under her more "smexy" pen name, Noa Rose. An MMF romance, A New Game is set to release October 15. Check out the view from Michelle Schad's table at the con: QuestCon Orlando: ReportQuestCon Orlando happened August 20, 2022. It was their inaugural convention, held at the Holiday Inn and Suites in Orlando, FL. The advertising for it spread through the local gaming community like wildfire. As it captivated my target audience, I applied to vend thinking, if nothing else, I could start getting my name out there not only as a writer, but as a DM too. Wow, was I pleasantly surprised! The con was attended by roughly 200 people, all gamers of some flavor, along with their families and significant others. Having attended many gaming cons in the past without vendors, I was not expecting much in the way of sales or even flow through the vendor room. I - and the other vendors in the room - were so wrong! People flowed through that room in droves, to the point where it was single-file only to pass through the row I was in. There were panels from local gamers and artists, table-top games of all kinds to run, a costume contest, cosplayers, and the very clever use of scavenger hunts by two exhibitors that got people moving through the vendor room like hunter bees for flowers. These people came to have fun, to learn, and to spend money! Wow, did they spend money! The general consensus from all the vendors I spoke to, was shock at how well everyone was doing sales wise. I sat between an artist and a self-published card game maker. As it was only a 1-day con, that might have made a difference. There was no chance for con-goers to ‘wait until the last day’ when they only sometimes come back. The two scavenger hunts sent people all through the vendor room asking questions, taking pictures, and, yes, spending money. I set up a sign that read “Roll a Nat20 to win a free book!” which counted for the scavenger hunt and then had people rolling to try to win. Even if they didn’t, a little more than half the time they bought a book anyway. I had four Nat20 winners total that day, but the draw to roll dice was too great to pass up for the casual gamer. I had discussions with several people that were entranced by the fact that I not only write books, but run a game based on my novel Ashes to Embers. I told anecdotes of my tables, of my gaming and writing career, and had repeat visitors to my table. My vendor neighbor attracted quite a bit of attention with a raffle that kept people effectively trapped at my table (thank you, Lumenvoid!) to chat, shop, look at stickers, or read back flaps. The staff were all pleasant and helpful. The other vendors were just as excited as I was to see people coming in to spend, chat, and learn. I will gladly return next year to QuestCon which is not something I say lightly about cons. About Michelle Schad, pen name, "Noa Rose":From a young age, there have been voices inside of Michelle’s head. No, not those kinds of voices – or, maybe they are; who really knows? Rather than fear those voices, Michelle wrangled them like wild mustangs on the prairie, make each one bend to her will in its own time. Well, what does that mean? It means that Michelle has been writing stories of the fantastic, the horrific, and the mysterious for as long as her little fingers have been able to hold a pen and probably longer, but memory only goes back so far. In a world that passes for ‘normal’, she is all of the ‘normal’ things one might expect: mother, wife, keeper of fur-babies. She is also a student of life, meaning if there is something to learn, she will learn it, thus making her a veritable font of only partially useful knowledge. The whimsy and ChAoS that actually controls the rest of Michelle’s existence has earned her a place in two different arenas so far: Bards and Sages Quarterly and Corrugated Sky Publishing. While wielding the unwieldiness of words is her primary function, she is also an avid crafter, collector of “creepy” ball-jointed dolls, and can run through a Target in under an hour with only two extra items from her intended list. Talent! You can find more about her on her website at https://tamingchaos.net/ Michelle Schad and Noa Rose Novels:

She had a very good reason for breaking the first rule of magic ... and the second one ...
Cami Donovan has secrets. Big ones that no one can ever know. All she can do now is try to forget the past and focus on the future. But as it turns out, her future—her family’s future—might not be shiny and bright unless she can help her sister resolve the cold case murder that’s been plaguing her psychic visions. Falling for the sexy history expert who holds the keys to it all? That was never part of the plan. The last thing on Sam Corraza’s mind is romance. Emotional entanglements bring nothing but pain. His past certainly taught him that. But when he’s presented with an old Hollywood mystery to solve, he can’t stay away—from the case, or the enchanting witch who brought it to him. As they unravel the evidence—and their feelings for each other—it becomes clear that the past is coming back to haunt them in a big way. With danger closing in, can Cami and Sam overcome all that stands between them—or is history destined to repeat itself? If you love Michelle M. Pillow, Abigail Owen, K.F. Breene, or K.M. Shea, check out this series that readers have described as a steamy Charmed meets Lucifier with witch sisters solving murder mysteries and finding true love. “A magical debut full of unique, complex characters, fabulous sisterhood and an adorable dog. A witch with secrets, her reluctant protector, and a murder to solve. What could possibly go wrong?
Delia Donovan has everything under control. Keep her family’s magical secrets hidden? No problem. Rein in her own witchy powers? Easy. Join a clandestine FBI task force to solve a cold case murder? She’s got it covered. But ignoring the intense sexual chemistry she has with the cocky jerk who heads her security detail? Well, that’s another story. The last thing Mark Cavan wants on his team is a supernatural Lawyer Barbie who traipses through crime scenes in designer clothes and stilettos. But he needs a magical asset to solve the case, and Delia is the perfect witch for the job. He’ll just have to somehow ignore his growing attraction to the infuriating woman. Seems doable…right? It’s not long before Mark learns there’s more to Delia than meets the eye—and Delia realizes that falling for Mark would be the easiest—and most complicated—thing she’s ever done. But they’ll need to put their feelings on the back burner if they want to catch the murderer…before they become the next victims. If you love Michelle M. Pillow, Abigail Owen, K.F. Breene, or K.M. Shea, check out this series that readers have described as a steamy Charmed meets Lucifier with witch sisters solving murder mysteries and finding true love. “A witch and an FBI agent find love while solving a years-old murder in the wickedly delightful second paranormal romance in Joya’s Legacy series. The anticipation is delicious.” — Publishers Weekly Killing Song
One more kill and she’s free. But only if she doesn’t fall in love first.
Love destroys. Zaida has lived by that motto for centuries as a siren and the faerie queen’s most lethal assassin. So keeping things strictly professional with the sexy human she’s working with on the FBI’s paranormal task force shouldn’t be a problem. Except it is. Former Army Ranger Zimm isn’t a big fan of love either. Losing everything and everyone will do that to a guy. Keeping his hands off the badass, sword-happy siren who’s helping him track down a murderous demon should be easy. But it isn’t. If Zaida and Zimm have any hope of claiming their happily ever after, they’ll have to catch a killer, outwit immortal royalty, and face off against an evil magical organization. And then there’s the little matter of the last hit the queen has ordered Zaida to carry out in exchange for her freedom. The target? Zimm. Seems like everything’s about to get supernaturally complicated. If you love Michelle M. Pillow, Abigail Owen, K.F. Breene, or K.M. Shea, check out this series that readers have described as a steamy Charmed meets Lucifier with witch sisters solving murder mysteries and finding true love. Heart and Seek
Is their chance encounter a witchy second shot at love? Or just another score?
Ruby Donovan is a lot of things—paramedic, single mom, Legacy witch. The one title she never wanted? Senate heir. But that’s exactly what she’ll become unless she can find a loophole fast. It’s just her luck that the man who steps in to help her is the one who crushed her heart so many years ago. There’s no way she’ll give him a second chance to do that. Treasure hunter Diego Benitas has no interest in witch politics. But he does have a significant interest in Ruby. He always has. Keeping her safe and helping her find what she’s looking for shouldn’t be too hard. Convincing her to let him into her heart again? That might be the toughest assignment he’s ever faced. With enemies closing in from all sides, can they survive long enough to find their way to happily ever after? Or will the odds keep them apart forever? If you love Michelle M. Banish the demon, stop the prophecy, and do not fall in love. Easy, right? Yeah, not so much.
Mina Donovan is a woman of many talents. Fire elemental, psychic, Legacy witch, magical asset for an FBI paranormal task force…she does it all. Her latest struggle? Not crushing on her sexy best friend. Logically, she knows they can’t be together. Too bad her heart has never bothered with logic. The friend zone is the last place pyro expert Josh wants to be with Mina. Not that he has any choice in the matter. A witch hunter falling for a witch? Not smart. He’ll just have to learn to ignore his attraction to the gorgeous woman who already owns so much of his heart. If Mina and Josh have any hope of finding their way to happily ever after, they’ll have to banish an all-powerful demon and take down an evil magical organization. Oh, and they’ll also have to figure out how to stop the prophecy that warns a dragon will consume Mina. It’ll take more than magic to fix this supernatural dilemma. If you like Michelle M. Some lines should never be crossed.
Blake Willis has the perfect life - a beautiful wife, two great kids, and a thriving business doing what he loves as a cybersecurity consultant. Determined to secure his family’s financial future, Blake enlists the help of an old friend, tech billionaire and world-renowned whisky expert, Justin Coulter, to help him sell his grandpa’s “million-dollar moonshine.” Everything is running smoothly until a shocking discovery rocks Blake’s world. The whisky is stolen and his caretaker is murdered. And worse, his wife is missing. In a frantic race against time, the lines of trust blur. Blake’s friends and enemies — and maybe even his wife — are not who he thought they were. And the technology, money and global control at stake have now drawn disreputable foreign powers into the mix. Prologue
The call changed everything. The call ordering me to stand down. I stood, walking in circles, the rage stiffening my neck, eyes drawn to my gun safe. I paced toward it, then shuffled back. They had kidnapped my wife, intent on destroying me. But I didn’t know who or why. I had held a gun many times in the last decade, but not since protecting the US Secretary of State several years ago. It was the first and only time I killed anyone. I’d never completely recovered. I hated guns, hated killing, until now. Sometimes killing was necessary. Grandpa had taught me that. And I would again if that’s what it took to get Rebecca back. Approaching the safe, I removed the Glock 17 and 26. The only thing that mattered was rescuing Rebecca. Our sons needed their mother, I needed my wife, and would do anything to find her or die trying. About the Author:
With a background in mathematics and IT consultation, I’m captivated by crime thrillers. So much so that I’m writing the Blake Willis corporate and political crime thriller series.
Working around the world in business and technology has provided an inside view - a fly on the wall perspective. I’ve been able to see how powerful people, including politicians, board members and executives, negotiate and decide, usually without the interests of shareholders, employees, customers, or constituents being considered. Criminals go to great lengths to remove their physical and digital fingerprints and remain invisible. And that’s where Blake’s and his team’s elite skills come into play. Early in my career, I spent time on the outside looking in, before getting invited into the boardrooms and inner chambers. Then there I was, in the room where it happens. Now, through my books, I am sharing similar stories with you. I am also the author of Wine Sense, a book that teaches how to appreciate wine. |
