Luna Joya has done another book signing, and once again, so many of us were unable to attend. (Yes, I mean me. I am so many. Darn this distance between us!) Since so many of us don't live in California and can't always get to her when she does a signing, I thought it would be best to give us all a recap--so we don't feel TOO left out. So, in case you missed it, Luna Joya (author of the Legacy Series and the upcoming Wicked series signed with City Owl Press) joined in on a book signing at the Irwindale Spring Book Festival, where her books heated the very air around her. Okay, so technically it was the sun, but either way, it was really hot. And our hexy, sexy romance author hid under a baseball cap to try to keep from turning into a tomato. Picture below for proof. The four hour festival took place under the blaze of the California sun outside the Irwindale Library, and held many beloved authors, such as Dominique Laura, Mary Dean, Kelly Violet, Tonya Clark, Naomi Springthorp, Jennifer Irwin, Aviva Vaughn, Kristina Luckey, A.M. Roark, J. Bengsston, Ashley Lynn, Teri Kay, Jenn D. Young, Lisa Becker, Mia Hopkins, R.L. Merill, and Joy Eileen. Also at the event were special vendors from Belle Book Box and Mystic Box, and some children book authors: Ellie Lieberman, Dr. Dawn Menge, and Trevor Murray. DC Renee, unfortunately wasn't able to attend. This was actually the second annual Irwindale Spring Book Festival. It had a selection of authors from all genres, so I can only imagine how big it will be next year! Luna actually got to snag a photo shoot with some friends--a.k.a. freakin' awesome authors. Is this or is this not a fan girl worthy moment? And last, but not least we have the yearbook worthy group photo of all the authors that came together to make the event spectacular.
There were some rumors going about that some of the same authors would be at the Lil' Book Bug Event in L.A., and maybe the Phoenix Reader Envy Event. Though we can't confirm or deny who. We can confirm that it will be hot when Wicked Crown finally finds its way into readers hands. (The weather, I mean, though, it's a book from Joya, so obviously keep those spicy materials away from any flammable materials as well.) But that's the ONLY hint we're able to give at the moment.

Author Luna Joya has had a busy time this February, with two scheduled signings in as many weeks, leaving those of us not in California left out in the cold. *sniffles*
However, those in California and others with the ability to road trip there, got to see the red-headed author as she signed copies of her Legacy Series. Check out some highlights below! Open Book Canyon Country Book Store Signing
Her first signing took place at The Open Book Canyon Country book store in Santa Clarita, California, on February 12, 2022, where she accompanied authors Lizzy Gayle and Lesley O'Sullivan as they lured in unsuspecting readers with candy and pretty covers, and then boom--book sales!
The primary focus of the event was actually Leslie O'Sullivan's debut novel, Pink Guitars and Falling Stars (978-1648981586, Mystic Owl, $14,99, p. 298), during the signing, the authors held raffles and did readings from their books. Many thanks to the Open Book Store for sharing their space and audience. The Love and Devotion Event Signing
On February 19, 2022, Joya packed up her bags and headed for the Love and Devotion Event at the Sheraton San Diego Hotel and Marina.
The event included not only lovely views of boats docked in the bay, but a luncheon for readers with VIP passes, where they got to sit and chat with 49 of their favorite authors, models ripped straight from the covers of their favorite romance novels, and the voices of our beloved audiobooks. Added to the lure were swag bags. Darn our inability to road trip in time! Many thanks to the Love and Devotion Author Events for holding such a wonderful event! And also...
As if there wasn't enough going on this month, it's now official! Mystic Owl announced that they've snagged the contract for Joya's upcoming novel, How to Date a Fury.
And Rumor has it:
Last, but not least, rumor has it How to Date a Fury is not the only book to be announced this year, but shhh. Watch this space.

With the cryptid situation pushing my bare-bones team to its limits, I don’t need a stray civilian whose goal seems to be getting himself killed on my watch. Marshall throws himself between people and danger like his life doesn’t matter. Except, for some reason, he matters to me. Even if the giant redhead’s touch reminds me I’m more than my Command position, how can I risk his life and my team’s chance at success just for the sake of my happiness? Marshall: All I ever do is screw up. With jobs. With people. Especially with people. Definitely with the crazy-beautiful superhero-soldier who takes down my vampire boss—who, no, I didn’t know was a vampire. Ending up in her custody, at a secret base full of other perfect super-soldiers? Custom-made opportunity for me to mess something up. But Liv sees through my weirdness to the real me. Now, I’ve gotta show her rules are made to be broken and that while she’s protecting everyone else, I’ll be protecting her. This time, screwing up isn't an option. Trained from birth to defend humanity, the members of Company Alpha Cryptid Containment are the best of the best at what they do--protecting Region Two from that which goes bump in the night. But protecting their hearts? That's a whole different story. Daphne de Duras is a proper French duchess by day and fledgling assassin by night. Her latest mission is to dispatch justice and protect the French aristocracy by executing Étienne de Noailles, disgraced former noble, legendary rake, and vampire emissary to the court of King Louis XV. But Étienne’s alleged crime—the gruesome murder of Madame de Pompadour, the King’s mistress and Daphne's friend—doesn’t quite fit the dashing vampire’s nature. With his immortal days suddenly numbered, Étienne needs to convince his would-be executioner not only of his innocence, but that they should hunt the real killer together—a challenge almost as difficult as convincing himself that he isn’t falling for her. Daphne reluctantly agrees to a temporary partnership when Étienne persuades her that something more sinister is afoot. He can, after all, help her find answers in places she’s unable to go alone. And despite her deep loathing for any and all vampires, she can't help but start thinking of a few other places she'd like to go with him. In 1765, a blood plague is spreading among the Parisian poor, turning them into vampires. For many, it’s a better fate than starvation as a human. As one of few courtiers infected, “legendary rake” Étienne de Noailles is appointed the vampire emissary to His Majesty. Though he tries to advocate for vampire rights, he’s treated as little more than a threat and a lust object at Versailles. Her debut novel, The Assassin and the Libertine, publishing under the Mystic Owl imprint of City Owl Press, comes out October 14, 2021. When Lily isn’t writing about dreamy supernatural beings in 18th century France, she enjoys sipping champagne, eating cake, and dancing naked by the light of the full moon. VEE: Remember that way hot, way arrogant chef I rescued? Turns out, he’s my soulmate. Despite Bruce’s lack of a filter, life is all good in Region Two. Cryptids stalking the city’s shadows. My team stalking the cryptids. My sisters using our fav rom-coms as a study guide for meeting your civilian boyfriend’s parents. I always believed cryptids were the greatest danger out there. I was so, so wrong. There are some tragedies even agents and Company resources can't combat. A hopelessness that threatens to shatter the team and my heart. Until I accidentally uncover an ultra-classified miracle. Hacking research above my pay grade isn’t the worst of my sins. What the research points me to requires betraying the Company, my team, everything that makes me--me. But if this deal with the devil saves Bruce? I’m okay with the sacrifice. BRUCE: We’d gone through a different kind of battle and come out more in love than ever. Vee thought we’d won. Hell, so did I. Except there are things Vee never told me. That there was a price for saving my life. That Vee’s the one who has to pay. And now I’ve lost the woman who I love with every cell in my body. When the Company discovers what she’s done, the verdict is treason, the punishment, death. They’re about to meet Bruce the Bastard though. There’s no power—human, government, or cryptid—that can keep me from saving Vee. About the Book: Banish the demon, stop the prophecy, and do not fall in love. Easy, right? Yeah, not so much. Mina Donovan is a woman of many talents. Fire elemental, psychic, Legacy witch, magical asset for an FBI paranormal task force…she does it all. Her latest struggle? Not crushing on her sexy best friend. Logically, she knows they can’t be together. Too bad her heart has never bothered with logic. The friend zone is the last place pyro expert Josh wants to be with Mina. Not that he has any choice in the matter. A witch hunter falling for a witch? Not smart. He’ll just have to learn to ignore his attraction to the gorgeous woman who already owns so much of his heart. If Mina and Josh have any hope of finding their way to happily ever after, they’ll have to banish an all-powerful demon and take down an evil magical organization. Oh, and they’ll also have to figure out how to stop the prophecy that warns a dragon will consume Mina. It’ll take more than magic to fix this supernatural dilemma. If you like Michelle M. Pillow, Abigail Owen, K.F. Breene, or K.M. Shea, check out this series that readers have described as a steamy Charmed meets Lucifier with witch sisters solving murder mysteries and finding true love. May 31, 2021 June 1, 2021

Agent Zero by Janet Walden-WestHe owns the spotlight, she lives in the shadows. VEE: My only purpose? Keep lethal cryptids in check, and our Company existence secret. Sometimes a girl needs a night of karaoke and tequila though. Instead, after a vicious new cryptid species crashes the party, I end up saving and carting home a way arrogant, way hot chef. With Bruce Kantor now a temporary roommate it seems like the perfect time to indulge my forbidden civilian fascination—especially the friends-with-benefits part. But the feelings he ignites threaten my oath and mission. BRUCE: Damn right I’m the bad boy of the culinary world. I live for the limelight, and the legions of #BruceTheBastard fans love my temper as much as my food. After stomping out of one high-profile gig, all I’m looking for are directions to my next. What I get is a giant Komodo Dragon-wannabe, and Vee Ramirez, the most infuriatingly irresistible woman to ever hit my radar. Janet Walden-West is starting her new urban fantasy/paranormal romance series, the Region Two Series. While book one, Agent Zero, is set to release on July 1, 2021, she's giving out a prequel for this new series in her latest novella, Agent Alone, on Book Funnel. Is your catnip slow-burn, opposites-attract romances, featuring kickass heroines with pop-culture fetishes, heroes brave enough to love them, and plenty of steamy fun? Then Region Two is is your happy place. Perfect for fans of Hailey Edwards, Nalini Singh, Dannika Dark, K.F. Breene, and McKenzie Hunter. Ridge: Keeping paranormal cryptid existence on the down-low and protecting the public—even a certain particularly sexy member—is my jam. Associating with civilians, not so much. But when I accidentally tag-team with the hottest, grumpiest woman I’ve ever rescued? McKenna Cabello has me thinking about hands-on research, a win-win sitch since I gotta keep her from accidentally exposing my black ops organization. Her record says she’s a criminal, but the more time I spend with her, the harder that is to believe. McKenna: I can’t afford distractions. As Enforcer, my job is security for the most brutal gunrunner in the Gulf. The job most likely to get me killed though? Ensuring my ATF task force is set to take down the entire cartel. Things go sideways when a freak-monster kills a key player, and a lethal cinnamon-roll with a hero complex keeps interfering with my sting. Ridge Prescott is six feet plus of muscles, corny jokes, and the unnerving ability to look past my street soldier shell. But getting involved with me? That could be his most dangerous mistake yet.
